Spring is a Transportation Planner with the District Department of Transportation. She is currently working on the design and implementation of the 16th Street NW Bus Lanes Project that will improve transit service reliability and travel times, while also improving passenger comfort and safety, on one of the highest bus ridership corridors in the District of Columbia. Additionally, Spring is leading a project, in coordination with the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority, to improve the roadway infrastructure at spot locations in the District to allow buses to travel faster. The improvements include signal retiming/optimization/priority, lane reconfiguration, parking modifications, pavement marking changes, and intersection design.
In 2017, Spring was nominated to participate on the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) Bus Rapid Transit Subcommittee. She presented a poster at the 2017 Women in Transportation Seminar’s Annual Conference showcasing the roadway improvements the District developed and implemented to improve bus operations. Spring is currently a member of APTA’s Emerging Leaders Program
