Scott Plaxton, P.Eng., is a Senior Systems and Vehicles Engineer within the Rail Systems Engineering team of WSP Canada Inc. He has over ten years of international project-based engineering experience in the transportation industry. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), a member of the International Council of System Engineers (INCOSE), and a member of the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
Presently he is supporting the Region of Waterloo with the Vehicle Final Acceptance and Commissioning program of the Waterloo LRV project, is Project Manager for Vehicle Integration for Finch West LRT, and provides ongoing Safety Assurance and RAM expertise to the Edmonton NW Metro LRT Extension team.
In his time at WSP, Scott has expanded his abilities in Business Development, Proposal Development, and team leadership. He has had a key role in pursuits for several major railway projects, including Montreal REM (Won), Gatineau LRT (Won), Ottawa Trillium Line LRT, and has led the pursuit team on multiple small to medium sized Rail Systems and Rolling Stock Engineering contracts for opportunities across Canada.
