Melanie is a Principal and Senior Project Manager with Quandel Consultants, a rail consulting firm headquartered in Chicago. Throughout her career, Melanie has focused on the planning and development of intercity passenger rail corridors in the Midwest. In varying roles from project engineer to project manager, Melanie’s project experience includes passenger rail feasibility studies, alternatives analysis, environmental analysis, rail corridor planning studies, conceptual and preliminary track designs, and rail corridor program management.
Within APTA, Melanie serves as Secretary of the High-Speed & Intercity Passenger Rail (HS&IPR) Committee and is the chair of the Programs sub-committee, responsible for the planning of the Policy Forum and HS&IPR sessions at the APTA Rail Conference and Annual Conference.
Melanie is a proud graduate of Purdue University’s School of Civil Engineering and a die-hard Boilermaker fan. She lives in Cleveland, OH with her husband of 10 years, Derek, and her two sons, Calvin and Miles.
